Thierry Thorel est photographe au journal La Voix du Nord. En février dernier, sa photo remporte le premier prix dans la catégorie Actu de notre concours photo mensuel. Voici son récit de photoreporter sur le terrain où depuis plusieurs semaines les inondations font rage dans le Nord.
Des inondations interminables
En janvier 2024 le Nord Pas de Calais subit une 2eme vague d’inondation. On décide, malgré une météo défavorable pour la prise de vue, de faire un survol de la région pour réaliser des photos de l’ampleur des dégâts.
Quand je monte dans un avion 4 places, les premiers mots du pilote sont « C’est très rare que l’on vole dans ces conditions météo » ! Effectivement le survole durant 2h de la région a été quelque peu mouvementé car au-delà de la technique, c’est surtout la stabilité qu’il fallait trouver pour pouvoir réaliser des photos.

Pour faire ce cliché du quartier totalement inondé de la ville d’Arques, j’ai demandé au pilote de passer 4 fois au-dessus pour obtenir ce que je voulais, car les turbulences étaient tellement importantes que je n’arrivais pas à m’immobiliser dans le cockpit.
